Evaluate reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; plan, design and develop electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, optical systems and/or DSP systems. Design, develop, modify and evaluate electronic, electro-mechanical or mechanical components, assemblies or integrated circuitry for hardware systems for the external market. Electrical and logical design of printed circuit boards or integrated circuits; mechanical design of electronics enclosures or integrated circuit packaging; and embedded software/firmware design. Design, analysis, testing and process development using engineering principles and methods. Perform software engineering design, coding, testing and documentation of CAD tools and flows used for Electromigration (EM) and IR Drop Analysis of hardware designs. Support EM and IR methodology and usage, write and maintain Perl/Tcl scripts. Resolve usage issues and carry out correlation and test plans for EM/IR flows.
Employer will accept Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field and 1 year of work experience in job offered or 1 year of work experience in a computer-related occupation. Education or experience must include: 1) Digital and Analog VLSI - Circuit simulation and synthesis, Layout, Design Rule Checking (DRC), Extraction, Layout Versus Schematic (LVS), Timing analysis, Floor planning and CMOS scaling; 2) EDA tools including Cadence Virtuoso Schematic Editor, Virtuoso Analog Design Environment and Virstuoso Layout Suite; 3) Design logic gates using CMOS technology; 4) Programming: C, C++, SQL, PL/SQL, Verilog HDL, Assembly language, FPGA programming; 5) Scripting: ksh, tcsh, Perl; 6) Tools: Altera Quartus, Cadence Virtuoso, MATLAB; 7) Custom CMOS digital circuit design and analysis. Experience may be gained concurrently.
