Sr. Packaging Thermal Engineer
We are now looking for a Senior Packaging Thermal Engineer:
The Senior Packaging Thermal Engineer works in a cross-functional team designing and developing products in support of all business segments including but not limited to Desktops, Servers, Automotive, and NVIDIA Shield products. A high level of experience in design related to electronic packaging thermal optimization, as one example, would be of interest. You will be an integral member of a collaborative team that defines and develops package level thermal solutions from concept through production working with a cross functional Product Development team and overseas partners. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong thermal and validation engineering technical background with some experience in product development including thermal engineering and related manufacturing processes.
What you'll be doing:
Leading role in GPU and Tegra packaging thermal design and thermal/mechanical definition for next generation products.
Manage the development, specifications, design and manufacturing implementation for your thermal solutions, i.e. flip chip lids, interface materials selection and evaluation, packaging structures, mechanical implications to thermals such as warpage, etc.
Prepare design concepts and drive packaging thermally related design trade-offs compatible with product goals.
Research new materials, processes, and technologies to meet product goals.
Own thermal packaging thermal solutions from end to end (i.e. conceptualization to mass production).
What we need to see:
BSME minimum and 5
years relevant experience in packaging thermal design
Experience in product designs
Working knowledge of FEA/CFD theory, and general analysis tools related to heat transfer and thermal engineering including excellent knowledge of at least one thermal analysis SW (e.g. IcePak, FloTHERM, Fluent)
Experience in high volume manufacturing and/or working with overseas manufacturers
Experience in managing outside resources including consultants, component suppliers, and high volume manufacturing partner.
