Technical Regional Sales Manager - Bay Area

ROHM Semiconductor is an industry leader in system LSI, discrete components and module products, utilizing the latest in semiconductor technology. We are actively seeking a motivated, career level Technical Sales Manager with extensive knowledge of Bay Area customers to work from our Santa Clara location. Qualified individual will serve in the role as business development to identify sales leads, market our products to new customers and maintain good working relationships with new and existing contacts.
SUMMARY
ROHM has an immediate opening for a regular, fulltime Technical Regional Sales Manager. Seeking an experienced hunter to sell ROHM's products. The primary responsibilities may include finding, generating, and developing new OEM partners in order to sell ROHM's products to customers; develops new accounts and or expands existing, having experience supporting accounts with an emphasis in power management (PMIC) technologies. Customers may be geographic or named accounts. Monitors and directs sales/distribution representatives within an assigned area; interfaces with customers to negotiate contracts, sell products and serve as a first-line source of technical information. Qualified candidate will drive to build and maintain sales support to customers regarding technical issues, documentation, and design-in of products. Position ownership includes but not limited to, manage both customers and various resources within the company to meet financial, strategic and customer specific goals. Serves as the primary point of contact with an assigned area and/or for specific programs at existing customers. You will actively direct and coordinate the technical stage of the sales process working with all functional internal and external groups, such as sales team and engineering units.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily to include but not limited to:
Contact new and existing Tier 1 and/or key strategic customers at many levels to promote, sell, and win the design-in of ROHM products
Set up disty and customer activities with marketing, engineering, customer service and support groups
Ensure Quarterly Business Reviews are conducted at each representative location and follow-up with action items
Manage, control, and direct the efforts of the distribution organizations
Provide assistance to customer through improved localized service
Provide in-depth knowledge of major customers and provides direction to ROHM team members regarding specific customer activities
Assist in all quoting activity for annual contracts and major bids
Assist Product Marketing groups with the implementation of sales plans and sales growth for specific accounts
Generate daily/weekly reports and perform forecasting duties
Monitor and control cost of field sales activities
Stay current in professional growth and development within industry technologies
Travel up to about 30% (domestic and international)
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience/Training:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Digital/Analog or related disciplines); Business or applicable major or equivalent combination of education/training and work experience, or equivalent industry work experience
Ideally 3 to 7 year's recent experience and demonstrated skills and background supporting a sales and marketing environment in the Semiconductor or Consumer Electronics industry
Background and Knowledge of:
Must be able to understand the market challenges and ROHM's business processes and product lines, market segments and applications, emphasis in power management (PMIC), industrial, and/or IOT
A technical background in Electronics is highly desired
Demonstrated experience in successful customer and team relationships
Electronics Distribution industry experience is beneficial
Understanding semiconductor products, manufacturing processes and their applications
Strong computer proficiency and abilities, MS Office Suite, CRM, spreadsheets, databases and Internet
Formulate and deliver presentations and demos
Strong analytical skills

Possess valid driver's license and current auto insurance
Language skills a plus but not required (Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, or Spanish)
