Engagements vary in scope and responsibility but include:
Providing technical accounting guidance and support to clients through complex transactions and business changes
Performing technical research and ensuring proper GAAP accounting treatment is performed for all transactions. Drafting/reviewing complex sets of financial statements with disclosures
Determining the impact of new accounting pronouncements on current policies and standards and authoring memos and accounting policy documents. Communicating impact from any change in accounting requirements
Performing assessment of accounting operations and financial reporting processes to identify data and process impacts by new accounting standards (revenue recognition and leases). Working with cross-functional teams and perform current state and future state assessments, gap analysis and develop business requirements. Assisting in solutions design to enable work streams and create processes that comply new accounting standards such as ASC606 and ASC842
Working closely with the accounting and finance teams in addressing day-to-day business activities and associated accounting implications
Desired Skills and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA (required) with public accounting preferred

years of experience in public accounting combined with experience working in a large multinational, publicly-held company is desirable
In-depth technical accounting knowledge of GAAP and ability and experience to research complicated accounting issues
Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP and NetSuite. Advanced Excel skills required
Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
Results oriented with strong orientation to client servicing, time management, and project delivery

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
