Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning is changing the world at an amazing pace, bringing new capabilities and experiences to all. GLOBALFOUNDRIES is enabling differentiated silicon solutions for this new era of computing, and is looking for a high performing individual to fulfill a new Segment role, Director Artificial Intelligence. It is expected that an individual filling this role would be an AI industry luminary and become the trusted advisor and subject matter expert for GLOBALFOUNDRIES. The ideal candidate will have had experience in market segment requirement definition and chip design, including industry size and scope, with a thorough understanding of the value and supply chain. Focus applications include deep learning, next generation low-power compute architectures (non Von Neumann), accelerator chip design and structured layout, vision systems, non-volatile memory architectures, software interfaces.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for all GLOBALFOUNDRIES worldwide market segment activities related to the Artificial Intelligence/Deep Learning application area and market segments.
Essential responsibilities and deliverables of this role include creation of market segment requirement documentation (MRD) and a market segment plan, indicating key market trends and key application drivers over both tactical and strategic time horizons. The segment plan will include target customers, technology and product intercept timelines, revenue and margin opportunities, as well as a complete competitive landscape analysis.
A key focus of this role is identification of disruptive system architectures or technology inflections which can drive new product paradigms.
Monitor and report on market trends and competition and assess the impact on GLOBALFOUNDRIES business, prepare collateral for sales and marketing organizations, behave as a segment evangelist for the enterprise.
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required
Qualifications:
At least 10 years' experience in the semiconductor segment
Masters in Electrical Engineering or Computational Engineering
Deep learning architectures, artificial intelligence, accelerators, vision systems
Deep segment marketing and product architecture knowledge
Industry contacts and solid network in the semiconductor ecosystem
Solid and demonstrated grasp of high tech marketing fundamentals: business models, segment planning, product requirements
Preferred
Qualifications:
PhD Electrical or Computational Engineering, MBA
Compute systems architect, chip design, EDA
Strong team player with a positive attitude and proactive work ethic
Ability to identify opportunities and independently pursue
Experience in working with international and diverse teams and with multiple levels of management
Excellent verbal and writing skills. Good communicator and comfortable presenting to executive audiences
Deep industry insights and domain expertise including deep learning solution architectures and system requirements, distilled technology differentiation and foundry value propositions over a planning time horizon in excess of 5 years.
Five years segment specific experience in deep learning architectures, artificial intelligence, accelerators, vision systems
Deep segment marketing and product architecture knowledge
Industry contacts and solid network in the semiconductor ecosystem
Solid and demonstrated grasp of high tech marketing fundamentals: business models, segment planning, market requirements
Industry luminary: participant on academic and industrial standards organizations
Experienced speaker at industry level conferences and workshops
