Senior Network Technician
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Server Rack Coordinators to join our growing team within infrastructure operations.
You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
The position's responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations and day to day assistance with capacity management.
You will monitor the internal tools closely to understand the incoming requests, walk through the floor plans to understand what spaces are available.
This is ensure the tool and what's actually available align with each other.
You will need to initiate new build projects in times when we run of capacityYou will leverage your experience supporting large scale, enterprise class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting.
As a Technician you will work in a fast paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction.
In addition to providing management and support of Amazon Web Services vast infrastructure, the Air Traffic Controller will establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures.
Responsibilities include:
1.
Serve as POC for all rack allocation activities from forecast, to pre-staged until hard reservation2.
Monitor the Forecast by checking dashboard for each site on a daily basis to determine which racks require allocations, redirects, holds, or rejections.
3.
Allocate server racks for all sites and communicate to ID teams with positions4.
Monitor and Action all Racks on Hold and Pending Racks.
Identify all opportunities to confirm racks on unconfirmed list and pending state.
5.
It is critical for this role to collaborating very closely with various stakeholders to remove blockers such as TPM, DCEO, ID LB teams etc.
6.
Weekly reporting of racks pre-staged, on hold and forecast7.
Kick Start Brick Projects.
Timely forecasting based on the incoming requests to initiate brick build projects8.
Provide additional support to help capacity technicians with Cabling9.
This role will be required travel between sites within SFO region on a regular basis to perform position inventory accuracy and power position audits10.
Ability of lift up to 50 lbs.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
