General Summary
Under general supervision, delivers products and/or services that are market-leading, and that maximize value for VSP Global and its customers.
Essential Functions
Lead the development and marketing of new and existing products for VSP Global s customers
Develop product plans and strategies to ensure VSP Global s ongoing competitive position in the marketplace
Propose enhancements; lead and ensure successful execution of development efforts and ongoing delivery of VSP Global s product portfolio for their respective LOB
Identify and evaluate significant product ideas for market potential and practicality. Establish competitive positioning and strategies for the assigned product portfolio. Make recommendations to management, executive team, and Board, and execute on approved product enhancements
Effectively lead a cross-functional and/or cross-LOB team to ensure successful delivery of product initiatives, including creating Product Requirements Documents, market positioning or strategy documents
Work with business partners and provide direction regarding market positioning, training, and communications by the public for assigned product portfolio
Serve as a central resource for all assigned products and initiatives, and coordinate with business partners to address and resolve product and/or client-specific issues and business rules
Conduct ongoing market and portfolio evaluation to ensure products remain competitive and meet operational, financial and market success goals
Track, evaluate, and provide company-wide reporting on product success, including market, financial, operational, and satisfaction success.
Coordinate internal efforts to address product support, product issues, and care delivery. Respond to inquiries regarding product business rules and work with business partners to resolve product issues.
Participate in the development of VSP's long-term product goals and competitive strategies.
Participate in the development of business, sales, and promotional strategies that meet the unique market needs.
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
Five to eight years of experience in product management, marketing or customer-focused health care
Five years of experience with project or program management and proven leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze market research and financial information, evaluate profitability and identify trends
Demonstrated ability to handle broad, complex and unstructured tasks ranging from analytical to strategic in nature
Superior knowledge of product and/or service development methodologies
Highly skilled at managing products across operational divisions
Highly skilled at effectively accomplishing objectives through others via influencing, delegating and strong working relationships
Proven ability to effectively communicate information to a wide variety of technical and non-technical individuals or groups at all levels of the organization
Thorough understanding of business implications, project interdependencies, and system interfaces
Proficient at facilitating meetings, and negotiating across all levels of the organization
Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties

Preferred Skills
Experience with the practical application of modern product discovery and product delivery
Experience working on technology-powered products as either a product manager, product designer, engineer, or data analyst
Experience engaging with Engineering, UX, Marketing, and Leadership in a constructive and collaborative relationship
Comfortable in front of customers (internal and external) and curious about their pain points
Experience working on product teams with competing priorities with aggressive timelines
Ability to learn multiple functional areas of business - engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
